2008 Showcase Winners
Road to California began 23 years ago as a few classes taught by nationally recognized faculty at the Grand Hotel in Anaheim.
In 1991 I purchased the conference from Brenda Werbelow and relocated to the Marriott Hotel in Ontario. In 1995 we began the
quilt display at the Hilton Hotel in Onatrio. We were one of the first consumer shows at the Ontario Convention Center when
it opened in 1997 and we have grown to be one of their largest events. In fact, OCC management has told me that we quilters
generate the largest food and beverage revenue over all other events, and we empty the ATM machines more often than any other
group. I would like to thank all of you quilters who have helped the show grow into one on the premier quilting events
in Southern California.
Many hands are involved in producing this show. I would like to thank my staff for all their efforts, the volunteers
for their helping hands and my family for all their support. A big thank you too, to all who entered quilts and wearable
art in our contest. Without this group of dedicated artists we would not have a show.
