Lois is an international quilt maker, designer and artist from Chandler, Arizona who works in both areas of traditional and innovative quilt making. Her passion for the pursuit of perfection in patchwork has earned her the title of Princess of Precision. Lois has won awards in both regional and national shows and has appeared in several books and magazines such as The American Quilter and on HGTV s Simply Quilts in conjunction with the release of her book, Pine Tree Quilts.

Bobbie Aug
Colorado
Bobbie Aug was inspired by the quiet, dignified beauty of nineteenth-century quilts and began making quilts 30 years ago. She became a quilt dealer, quilt collector, quilt shop owner, and quilt show consultant and producer, focusing on anything related to quilts and quilt making. Bobbie lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado. more -

Debbie Bowles
Minnesota
Debbie came to quilt making via a lifetime of garment and craft sewing. She leads each quilter to have fun while creating something that pleases them and is uniquely their own. Eleanor Burns

Perhaps no single teacher in the quilting industry is single-handedly as responsible as Eleanor Burns for bringing so many people into the fold of quilt making. Debbie Caffrey

Debbie is a self-published author of six books and eleven patterns. In addition, she has designed and published over ninety patterns in an ever-changing line of mystery quilts. Debbie has taught energy-filled workshops nationwide for conferences, guilds and quilt shops. Debbie has contributed a number of articles to Traditional Quiltworks magazine and has appeared on two episodes of HGTV s television program, Simply Quilts. More -

Rachel Clark
California
Rachel is a contemporary folk artist, teacher and lecturer who comes from a long line of sewers. She has been doing wearables for over 20 years and teaching on the national circuit for eight years. Eclectic fabric mixes, vibrant designs, and her keen sense of humor characterize Rachel s work. While her work can be whimsical or political it is a personal statement that reflects her love of traditional quilt making. She has done several one-woman shows and her work has been featured in magazines like, Threads and The Quilting Quarterly and the Fairfield Fashion Show.

Sandi Cummings
California
Sandi Cummings is a contemporary art quilter from Moraga, California. She balances her time between, a national lecture/workshop schedule and most important, her art quilt creations. Her pieces are exhibited frequently and are a part of many corporate and private art collections. In her classes, she emphasizes experimentation and encourages and facilitates students to develop original design concepts in a supportive atmosphere.

Jerriann Fenimore
Arizona
In 1995, she became a sewing specialist for a Husqvarna Viking dealer in Colorado, providing guide and specialty classes. After completing a training program with Viking Sewing Machines Inc., she became a certified Freelance Educational Consultant. In November 2000, Jerriann attended specialized training in Starbuck, MN with Sharlene Jorgenson to be certified as an instructor for Quilting From the Heartland with Husqvarna Viking.

Lynn Graves
New Mexico
Lynn has been an avid quilter since 1985 when she was attacked by the quilting bug. The phrase necessity is the mother of invention is very true in her case. Lynn designed Little Foot® as a result of her need to obtain an exact 1/4 seam allowance. As a new quilter she felt she needed all the help she could get. She has been teaching at quilt shops, symposiums, guilds and at Quilt Camp in the Pines since about 1992. More -

Stevii Graves
California
Stevii Graves of San Diego, California is an avid collector of P & B Fabrics as well as being an author, judge, curator and founding member of Quilt Bureaucrats R Us. She is currently President of the California Heritage Quilt Project. She is the curator for the special exhibit, The Quilts of the P & B Corporate Collection, for Road to California 2002.

Laura Heine
Montana
Laura Heine, a self taught quilter won the Bernina Award for the best machine quilting workmanship presented by AQS in Paducah, 1993 for her quilt One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. In 1994, she opened her quilt shop, Fiberworks, in Billings. She teaches locally and nationally, showing students what has worked for her and encouraging them to express their own concepts and creativity in quilting. She is currently working on a book, I Made It, due out in 2002. more -

Linda Jenkins
Colorado
Linda is one of the award-winning members from Piece O Cake Designs. She and her partner, Becky Goldsmith, started Piece O Cake in 1994. Since then, they have written seven quilting books and self-published five of those including The appliquéé Handbook, which illustrates their easy appliquéé techniques. They have designed many award-winning quilts including A Walk in the Mountains and Simply Delicious . Linda and Becky have designed four collections of fabric for P & B Textiles. More -

Mary Jensen
Mary Jensen has been able to combine her love for teaching and her home economics background to become a Bernina educator for the past ten years. Mary s favorite thing to create is a quilt, although at one time it was wedding dresses. Her other hobbies include spending time with her kids, working in the yard, and reading.

Melody Johnson
Melody has stepped in at the last minute to replace David Walker, whose classes were cancelled for health reasons. Melody is an artist, teacher, and business woman, whose hand dyed quilts are distinguished by riotous color and exuberant embroidery. Trained as a painter, she turned to quiltmaking as a diversion. Painting in fabrics and threads has since become her focus. Her award winning quilts are exhibited internationally, including eight American Quilter's Society Shows, Visions-Quilt San Diego '92, '94, '96 and '98, and Quilt National '95, '97 and '99. In 1994 she completed her Master of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University. She is co-owner with Laura Wasilowski of ARTFABR!K Extraordinary Fabrics and Threads.

Nancy Kirk
Nebraska
Nancy Kirk has been restoring quilts professionally for over 10 years and has organized six annual Quilt Restoration Conferences in Omaha. The Conference will now be held on a biannual basis. Nancy is president of the nonprofit Quilt Heritage Foundation, which also sponsors the Crazy Quilt Society and the Dead Quilt Society. She owns the Kirk Collection, an on line business specializing in antique and reproduction fabrics and antique quilts. She has written articles for popular quilting magazines including Quilters Newsletter Magazine and Traditional Quiltworks and has been seen twice on Simply Quilts on HGTV. More -

Debi Kuennen-Baker
California
Debi has been an Educational Consultant with Pfaff Sewing Machines since 1990 and is best known for her combination of patchwork and surface embellishment. She has been a participant in the Hobbs Fashion show in Paducah, the Fairfield Fashion Show and is currently designing a garment for the 2001-2002 Bernina Fashion Show. Her work has been shown in American Quilter, Sew News and numerous Pfaff Club magazines.

Trish Linden

Trish, a National Educator for Sulky of America, a Certified Home Economist, fiber artist, quilter, teacher and sewing machine professional brings experience to the field of creative sewing. Students learn simple, new ways of artistic expression through the use of thread, stabilizers, specialty needles, machine settings and fabric manipulation.

Cathy Miller
British Columbia
Cathy Miller from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada has been a professional singer and songwriter for 25 years, and has five previously released recordings. She has been a quilter for significantly less time, but has jumped into the arena with both hands and feet. She has performed her show for guilds, shops and conferences throughout Canada, Australia and the United States. More -

Ruth McDowell
Massachusetts
The inspiration for most of Ruth s quilts is her love of nature. After graduating with a B.S. in Art and Design, Ruth spent several years working as an illustrator. In 1972, she began her career in quilt making and since that time, she has become a full-time professional quilt artist with over 300 quilts to her name. Ruth leads a very active international career teaching and lecturing about her work. She wrote her first book in 1991 and now has five, including Piecing: Expanding the Basics, and Pieced Flowers, a pattern book of 55 flower blocks.

Yvonne Perez-Collins
California
Yvonne is the author of Soft Gardens and Beading by Machine, both books on textile embellishment. Her work has been featured on PBS shows with Sue Hausmann, and in Threads Magazine and Arts & Crafts Magazine. She is an educator for Sulky of America and has taught nationally for 16 years.

Theresa Polley-Shellcroft
California
Creativity is the center of Theresa Polley-Shellcroft s life. She began drawing when she was two years old and began painting and sewing at age eight. It was moving to California in 1980 that she fulfilled her desire to learn about quilting. However, she found that she did not take to traditional quilt patterns and found it much more creative and challenging to create her own designs. She has been a presenter at several workshops and conferences about African fiber arts and African American quilting and visual arts.

Liz Porter
Iowa
Well known as a teacher, author of best-selling quilting books, fabric designer and television show host, Liz Porter offers workshops and lectures on an eclectic array of topics. Liz has taught from coast to coast, in almost every state, abroad and at sea. Since 1995, Marianne and Liz have been teaching quilting on public television as hosts of Quilting With Fons & Porter. A new collaboration since 1996 has been a bimonthly quilting magazine, For the Love of Quilting with Marianne and Liz as executive editors. More -

Kathy Sandbach
California
Author of Show Me How to Machine Quilt, Kathy Sandbach has been machine quilting for the past 20 years. During the last ten years, she has been machine quilting for others, and supporting herself with this skill developing dozens of designs that do not need to be marked and do not use a long arm machine. Her work has appeared in numerous publications including Quilts, Quilts, and More Quilts and Smashing Settings and Borders and others.

David Sanders
Texas
David Sanders was born into cotton via the Rosendale Valley in Manchester, England. He moved to Australia where he spent 25 years in education, traveling and learning. Between engagements across the US and overseas, he now calls Austin, Texas home. An eclectic raconteur, he integrates business, collecting, photography, education, history and world travel into his rich life.

Jane Sassaman
Illinois
Jane studied textile and jewelry design at Iowa State University. In 1980, she discovered art quilts and knew quilting satisfied the artist, the craftsman, and the draftsman in her. As an award-winning quiltmaker, Jane is known for her bold designs celebrating the energy and beauty of garden flowers and plants. Jane s quilts are shown worldwide and can be found in many private and corporate art collections. She is author of the book, The Quilted Garden. More -

Joan Shay

Joan Shay has developed a new, exciting and easy appliquéé technique which she calls Applibond. She has written a book, Petal Play, and a second book, Petal Play the Traditional Way will be released in fall of 2001 by AQS. Joan is intrigued by all aspects of quilting and has won many local, state and national awards. She has appeared on Simply Quilts for HGTV and Quilting from the Heartland. More -

Koji Wada

Koji Wada, owner of Kasuri Dyeworks for the past twenty-eight years, has been the only major importer offering the best available traditional Japanese textiles in the United States. There is a scarcity of information about these beautiful fabrics due to the fact that the knowledge about their production was verbally conveyed from masters to their disciples, and written records would have jeopardized their trade secrets. David Walker

Cindy Walter
Washington
Cindy is an inspiring and innovative author, teacher, lecturer, designer and promoter of quilt making. Her classes range from traditional to contemporary techniques. The works of the great painters fascinated her though she found the idea of painting in oils somewhat daunting. She felt an urge to paint on her quilt with dabs of fabric! Thus, she created the technique of Snippets. She has authored several books including Fine Hand Quilting, Attic Windows with Diana Leone and her newest release, More Snippet Sensations. More -

Sheila Williams
California
Sheila started her career with computers in the Marine Corps setting up training programs and educating personnel, and has now developed her own computer and quilting software consulting business. She has been quilting a long time but when classes often asked to design templates for a project, her question always was, Isn't there a software program to do that for me? After extensive research and education of all the different programs on the market, she now teaches all those various programs in quilt shops in Southern California. More -

Kaye Wood
Michigan
Kaye is well known in the quilting industry, thanks in large part to her quilt show, Kaye s Quilting Friends, that appears on PBS stations throughout the country. Kaye has designed several tools to make quilting easier and more accurate and has authored more than 20 books on strip quilting. I love the teaching part of quilting and whatever the skill level of my students I can help them to enjoy making quilts, Wood says. More -

Pat Yamin
New York
Pat has been in the quilting business for 20 years. Her company, Come Quilt With Me, began in September 1981 as a mail order company. About 9 years ago, she began manufacturing acrylic templates, which then led to the development of the Brooklyn Revolver (a rotary cutting turntable). Pat travels to about 24 quilt shows a year, teaching and vending at most and also exhibits at the quilt markets. In January 2001, she released her first book, Look What I See and it has already sold out and is in the 2nd printing. She loves to discuss quilts and ideas with her customers.
