Led by members of the Colony High School Drum Corps, followed by dignitaries from the show\u2019s host city, Ontario, the entourage marched in to the vendor hall, and stopped near the Quilted with Honor Exhibit, a fitting backdrop for the veteran presentation that followed.<a href=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/road-to-california\/honoring-the-armed-forces\/attachment\/_i4c28871\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1825\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-1825\" src=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/i4c28871.jpg\" alt=\"_i4c2887[1]\" width=\"719\" height=\"472\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All quilts in the <a title=\"Road 2014 Special Exhibit: Quilted in Honor\" href=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/road-to-california\/road-2014-special-exhibit-quilted-in-honor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quilted in Honor Exhibit <\/a>were made with patriotic fabrics designed by IslandBatik.<a href=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/road-to-california\/road-2014-special-exhibit-quilted-in-honor\/attachment\/_i4c3751\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1846\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-1846\" src=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/i4c3751.jpg\" alt=\"_i4c3751\" width=\"655\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These quilts made such a huge impression that Road wanted to extend their versatility by offering a new challenge using these fabrics: <strong>Step Out of the Box.<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/road-to-california\/road-2014-special-exhibit-quilted-in-honor\/attachment\/_i4c3744\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1844\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-1844\" src=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/i4c3744.jpg\" alt=\"_i4c3744\" width=\"811\" height=\"739\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Step Out of the Box Challenge<\/strong> requires all submitted quilts to be a <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">modern aesthetic design<\/span> that incorporates <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">at least 50% Island Batik Quilted in Honor fabrics<\/span>. Quilters are also encouraged, but not required, to use additional materials from other Quilted in Honor sponsors such as Aurifill thread, Pellon batting, OESD embroidery designs, or patterns from Quilted in Honor designers.<a href=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/road-to-california\/proud-to-be-a-partner-with-quilted-in-honor\/attachment\/quilted-in-honor-partners\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1135\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1135\" src=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Quilted-in-Honor-Partners.png\" alt=\"Quilted in Honor Partners\" width=\"640\" height=\"306\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Due by October 1, 2014<\/span>, quilters can submit more than one entry.
