Cathy lives in Oxnard, California and Lynn lives in Texas. They choose Road for the perfect sister retreat and to get away from family. Road 2017 was their 4<sup>th<\/sup> time to meet up at the show. Cathy has been quilting for five years; Lynn since the 1980\u2019s. Going to Party Time is always on their schedule. They enjoy playing the games, \u201cgetting and winning stuff.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/road-to-california\/the-perfect-getaway-destination\/attachment\/01650982c0802b727674ce25baa1c48c79040b5df4\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5087\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-5087\" src=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/01650982c0802b727674ce25baa1c48c79040b5df4-783x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"522\" \/><\/a>\nEdith is a member of African American Quilters of Los Angeles. She and her friend Barbara (also a member of the guild and a tad camera shy) spent the night so they didn\u2019t have to fight the LA traffic for two days. A quilter for 15 years, Barbara invited Edith to \u201cher first quilt show ever.\u201d Edith has been sewing clothes for years but has only been quilting for two years. A friend had invited her to a quilt guild meeting and she was \u201chooked\u201d from there. \u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/road-to-california\/the-perfect-getaway-destination\/attachment\/0199657cd8fc5e25009e5a5b7d86a39be0a83be4ea\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5085\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-5085\" src=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/0199657cd8fc5e25009e5a5b7d86a39be0a83be4ea-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"329\" height=\"439\" \/><\/a>\nThese three friends, Amy, Laureen, and Judy originally met through quilting, going to retreats, in Palo Alto, California. Between them, they have 76 years of quilting experience!! \u00a0Judy now lives in the San Diego area and got the women to meet up at Road. They stay Wednesday through Saturday as \u201cthere is so much to see and visit.\u201d \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/road-to-california\/the-perfect-getaway-destination\/attachment\/friends-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5088\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5088\" src=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Friends-1024x522.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"625\" height=\"319\" \/><\/a>Meet Jeanie, Kendra (Jeanie\u2019s daughter in law), Joyce (Kendra\u2019s aunt from Iowa), and Mickie, a member of their quilting group. Joyce knew she wanted to come see her niece and she purposely planned her visit to coincide with Road. Jeanie has been hosting ten \u201cquilting ladies\u201d each month in her home. Going to Party Time is a must.
