{"id":6361,"date":"2019-01-21T13:40:57","date_gmt":"2019-01-21T20:40:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.road2cablog.com\/?p=6361"},"modified":"2019-01-21T13:40:57","modified_gmt":"2019-01-21T20:40:57","slug":"guest-safety-is-our-priority","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/2019\/01\/21\/guest-safety-is-our-priority\/","title":{"rendered":"Guest Safety Is Our Priority"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\t\t\t\t<![CDATA[\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align:center\"> Special attention to guest safety is a priority for both Road to California and the Ontario Convention Center. <\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Road to California 2019, the Convention Center has announced that <strong>there will not be<\/strong> any individual bag checks.  In addition, <strong>outside food will not be allowed<\/strong> inside the venue, <strong>except for those who have special dietary needs. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the precautions we take each year to ensure guest safety so that everyone has a pleasant experience while visiting our show include: <\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <br \/><strong>Security Detail<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/road-to-california\/road-2016-service-and-security\/attachment\/download-7\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3708\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"228\" height=\"221\" src=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/download1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3708\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Providing a quality experience that involves large crowds, over 200 classes and events, and more than 229 vendors and exhibitors, requires extra safety precautions. For the past seven years, Road to California has hired special security detail to watch out for their guests. Their security personnel have extensive experience dealing with loss prevention with a big box retailer for over 20 years. They walk the show floor and hallways, scrutinizing body movements and behavior as they watch out for shoplifters and employees stealing from their employers. What advice do they have for our guests to help prevent possible losses and maintain guest security?<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Keep bags and purses close and in front of you.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Use <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/road-to-california\/boy-scout-troop-628-doing-their-best-at-road\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sack Sitters<\/a> to manage your purchases. <\/strong>Sack Sitters are from Boy Scout Troop 628. Their post during Road to California is located in the hallway of the Convention Center. For a minimal fee, the scouts watch over large purchases so guests don\u2019t have to haul heavy items around all day. The money they earn is used for future camp outs and other troop activities.\u00a0<figure><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1581\" href=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/road-to-california\/we-love-the-boy-scouts-happy-boy-scout-day\/attachment\/_i4c4086_copy\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"587\" scale=\"0\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1581\" src=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/i4c4086_copy.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/a><\/figure><\/li><li><strong>At night, leave the convention center in groups.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <br \/><strong>Safety support<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/road-2017\/safety-and-security-at-road-2017\/attachment\/171\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4600\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/171-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4600\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To further insure guest safety, the Convention Center hires a private ambulance service that is made available to assist guests with any medical needs they might have during the four days of the show. They are <strong>located at four stations<\/strong> in the Convention Center: under the stairs in the South Lobby; in the Pavilion Tent; in the Main Hallway and in the North Lobby.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The medics are ready and available to help with any kind of medical emergency before, during and after the show each day. Should a medical situation arise, medics advise that you <strong>\u201craise your hand for help\u201d <\/strong>and someone will come to your aid. If they can\u2019t handle a situation, they are prompted to call 911 and have an ambulance come to the Convention Center.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The medics report that <strong><em>falls<\/em><\/strong> are the most common medical situation they deal with at Road.
