{"id":6466,"date":"2019-03-08T19:09:06","date_gmt":"2019-03-09T02:09:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.road2cablog.com\/?p=6466"},"modified":"2019-03-08T19:09:06","modified_gmt":"2019-03-09T02:09:06","slug":"longarm-quilt-class-winner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/2019\/03\/08\/longarm-quilt-class-winner\/","title":{"rendered":"Longarm Quilt Class Winner"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\t\t\t\t<![CDATA[\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To encourage excitement for Road 2019, several contests were\nsponsored under the tag of \u201cGet Ready for Road Give Away.\u201d The first prize\noffered was a longarm quilting class taught by Linda Gosselin.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Linda is a Handi Quilter Educator who is a certified Art &amp; Stitch instructor. She teaches online classes for both Handi Quilter\u2019s Art &amp; Stitch and Pro-Stitcher using Simulator. She quilts for customers, Quilts of Valor and for charity, and teaches quilting classes at local quilt shops. Samples of her work can be seen on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"her website (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thequiltershelpdesk.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">her website<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Linda was flattered that her class was chosen for the prize.\nRoad 2019 was Linda\u2019s first time teaching at Road to California and her first\ntime visiting California. She said she smiled nonstop during her classes\nbecause her students were doing \u201cfantastic work.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The winner for this giveaway was Lora Gearhart. Her winning\nentry appeared on our Facebook Page. She said that she was \u201csuper excited to\nwin.\u201d&nbsp; Lora had recently gotten in to\nfree motion quilting on her domestic machine and was looking forward to giving\nlongarm quilting a try. \u201cI want a longarm machine now,\u201d she said during her\nclass.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Longarm-class-winner.jpg\" alt=\"long arm quilt class winner\" class=\"wp-image-6467\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lora has been using rulers to help her with her domestic\nmachine quilting and applied some of those principles as she worked on the\nlongarm machine. <\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Road 2019 was also Lora\u2019s first time at the show. She was\nemployed by the City of Ontario\u2019s Fire Department and was part of the team that\ninspects the Pavilion Tent each year prior to the Show. From doing that work,\nshe knew she wanted to attend the Road and winning the class was a great way to\nget her to attend. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/road2ca.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Longarm-class-winner2.jpg\" alt=\"long arm quilt class winner\" class=\"wp-image-6468\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Road to California is all about giveaways before and during\nthe Show. With 2020 being Road\u2019s 25<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary Show, we are\nalready planning more giveaways than ever before to celebrate.
