Why\nHandwork?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Keeping\nhandwork — especially hand quilting — alive is important to Cheryl See,\nespecially with the newest generation of quilters.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cheryl has always\ndone handwork and started quilting when her scraps of fabric were too small to\nmake anything else. Paper\nPiecing has had the most influence on Cheryl\u2019s quilting and she tends to hand\npiece every other quilt.  This always\nallows Cheryl to keep a project for on the go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cheryl See\u2019s\nHome Studio<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen I downsized,\nI had just finished my basement with my dream quilt studio.  My area is smaller now and, in several rooms,\nbut still works for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is\nCheryl\u2019s favorite quilting tool? \u201cI love my Clover clips.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teaching\nQuilt Classes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cheryl See\nhas been teaching for 7 years since her quilt, Star Struck<\/em>, won Best\nHand Quilting for a large quilt at Paducah and became a part of The National\nQuilt Museum collection.  People assumed\nthat Cheryl taught classes, so she decided to devote one day a week to the\nbusiness side of quilting to see if she liked it. As a teacher, she always\nhopes her students gain new skills as well as inspiration and encouragement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Road to\nCalifornia 2020<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cheryl will\nbe traveling from Winchester, Virginia to Road. The last time she came to Road,\n3 years ago, a huge snowstorm hit the East Coast when it was time for her (and\nthe rest of Road\u2019s Eastern visitors) to return home. She was forced to stay in\nCalifornia an extra day so she decided to spend that extra day discovering\nHollywood. Cheryl confides that she is secretly hoping that that weather\nepisode happens again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides\nteaching, Cheryl See has also entered a quilt in the Road to California 2020\nQuilt Contest. Train To Nowhere<\/em> recently won Best of Show<\/strong> at the Pennsylvania\nNational Quilt Extravaganza so she\u2019s hoping for big things in Road\u2019s contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
